Biofrontera aims at attending and treating the skin, recognizing the aesthetic needs of a person's visual reflection.

Biofrontera AG is a biopharmaceutical company specializing in the development of cosmeceuticals and drugs for the care and treatment of dermatological and inflammatory diseases.

The cosmeceutical product Belixos approached the market in October 2009.  In addition, the Company has three product candidates in clinical development for four different clinical indications. The most advanced products are BF-200 ALA (clinical development completed) for actinic keratosis and condyloma; and BF-derm 1 (Phase II completed) for chronic, antihistamine-refractory urticaria. Clinical and preclinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy and excellent safety profile of both products. BF-1, a new drug for migraine prophylaxis, have already been performed and demonstrated excellent properties of the drug.

Biofrontera was founded in 1997 by Prof. Dr. Hermann Lübbert, the current CEO. The Company has its headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany. The company currently employs 24 people.
